Kristen Ballard is a comedy dialogue director in NYC.  Most of her work is done as Executive Producer/Director at Forgotten Umbrella Productions. She has also directed branded content, social media commercials, and music videos.

You may have seen her work featured on Funny or Die, WhoHaHa or Good Morning America. Her short films have recently screened at many festivals including the NYC Independent Film Fest, the NYC Short Comedy Film Fest, the New Faces New Voices Festival and the Always Happy Video Comedy Bop featuring Phoebe Robinson. Most recently, a short she directed was a finalist for "Best Comedy Micro Film" at Houston Comedy Film Festival and a finalist in the national competition Battle of the Sketches.

 

Kristen started as a trained writer and actor. She studied improv, sketch, and characters at the Upright Citizens Brigade in their Advanced Study Program.  She continues her learning with ongoing courses at The Second City, Intimacy Directors International, Screen Artists Co-op, Society of American Fight Directors and more. She has a BA in Theatre with a focus in Comedy from Transylvania University.

Kristen currently lives in Brooklyn, NY without family or dogs.
